& RULES
At Dance Your Way we want to encourage dancers and choreographers individuality and creativity. Please feel free to be as creative as possible within your team performance.
Please read the guidelines carefully to ensure your squad is ready for the spotlight.
TEAM JUDGING CRITERIA

TECHNIQUE
Execution, body control, and precision of movements specific to the dance style chosen.

REGULATIONS
Detailed requirements for all registered teams. Non-compliance may lead to point deductions or disqualification.
NOTICE
Beginner Intermediate Advanced level – Go in the appropriate category for your level. If you win your category you can move up. If you place 3 times you can move up.
Dancers must only dance in one team from one dance school
TEAM SIZE
Minimum 5 dancers per squad. No maximum limit, but stage space must be considered.
KEEP IT CLEAN
Strictly no swearing or inappropriate themes in music. No inappropriate/provocative movement or Items of clothing
MUSIC LIMITS
Beginners 2 mins maximum, Intermediate 2mins 30seconds maximum
Advanced 3mins maximum
AGE CATEGORIES
6 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under 16 and under. 17+. 75% of your team must be within the age category.
SOLOS
FREESTYLE FOCUSED

Categories: 6 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under 16 and under. 17+ Levels Beg, Inter, Adv

We encourage all dancers to freestyle.

Dancers must stay in their own space and have spatial awareness of the other dancers.

Tricks in inter/advanced categories only
We encourage individual expression. While routines can be choreographed, judges look for spatial awareness and the ability to adapt to the energy of the track.
2V2 DUO BATTLES
Traditional bracket-style elimination. Duos must showcase chemistry and synchronized freestyle responses to surprise tracks selected by our DJ.

OPEN LEVEL CATEGORY
DANCE YOUR
WAY
Unleash. Create. Compete. The Dance Your Way category allows you to get creative and explore choreography and performance. Each team will receive the same piece of music. Be creative, try different styles, the floor is yours. A minimum of 12 dancers is required for this section and each dancer can only dance in one team. Who will be crowned our Dance Your Way Champion? Have you got what it takes?
